Biography
Dr Aisha Gambo has a background in Pharmacy and holds a Masters in Pharmaceutics and a doctoral degree in Public Health from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. For her doctoral degree, she conducted a randomized controlled clinical trial in Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano State, Nigeria to evaluate the impact of Moringa oleifera leaves powder as a nutritional supplement on the anthropometric and immune status of people living with HIV that are on ART. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Discipline of Traditional Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban. She is a team member in the Clinical trial of Product Nkabinde. Her project also involves developing policy regulations and frameworks for the conduct of traditional medicine in South Africa and conducting a comparative analysis of requirements for the regulation and registration of traditional medicine in selected African countries.
